BIO
I write upmarket mysteries that blend The Thursday Murder Club’s ensemble warmth with anthropomorphic whimsy—think literary British mystery meets cozy academia, featuring a retired Classics professor dragon who solves neighborhood crimes with her found family of eccentric neighbors.
When not writing under the pen name Violet Moorhen, I am a copyright attorney working in academic libraries, with extensive publishing experience in scholarly journals and books. My obsession with British murder mysteries runs so deep that I designed my own tattoo of crows having Afternoon Tea under a magnifying glass.
In addition to writing about anthropomorphic amateur detectives, I can often be found doting on my beloved cat, learning Finnish for enigmatic reasons, and consuming British murder mysteries with the single-minded devotion of a dragon hoarding her treasure.
